Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026-10-30
Keyser Intelligence LLC ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. We built The New York Times Unlocker and
Upwork Total Earnings Chrome extensions (together, the "extensions") as Open Source projects.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle user information when you use our Chrome extensions.
Information We Collect
- No Personal Data Collection: Our extensions do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information with us or anyone else.
- No Account Required: You do not need to create an account or provide any personal details to use the extensions.
- Local-Only Data: Any settings or preferences you adjust in the extensions are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us.
Upwork Total Earnings
To show the exact total earnings on an Upwork freelancer profile, Upwork Total Earnings uses the Upwork session you are already signed in with. When you open a freelancer profile on upwork.com, the extension:
- Reads the Upwork authentication token cookies that Upwork has already set in your browser.
- Uses them only to request that profile's earnings from Upwork's own API at upwork.com.
- Displays the result on the page.
Your authentication tokens and profile data are never sent to us or to any third party, are not stored by the extension, and are not used for any other purpose. The extension only runs on upwork.com freelancer profile pages.
The New York Times Unlocker
The New York Times Unlocker runs only on nytimes.com pages and works entirely inside your browser. When you open an article and start scrolling, the extension:
- Looks for the subscription overlay, prompt banner and fade gradient that cover the article text.
- Removes those elements and restores normal scrolling, text selection and interaction on the page.
- Briefly shows a short celebration animation once the page is unlocked.
The extension does not read your cookies, account details or browsing history. It makes no network requests, stores no data, and sends nothing to us or to any third party. All of its changes are made locally to the page you are viewing and disappear when you leave or reload it.
Permissions
- The New York Times Unlocker may request certain browser permissions (such as access to webpages you visit) solely for the purpose of providing accessibility features.
- Upwork Total Earnings requests the "cookies" permission and access to upwork.com solely to read your Upwork authentication token and request profile earnings from Upwork, as described above.
We do not use these permissions to track, collect, or transmit your browsing activity.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
- The use of information received by our extensions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Third-Party Services
Our extensions do not use third-party analytics, tracking tools, or advertising networks. Upwork Total Earnings communicates only with upwork.com, using your existing Upwork session.
Children's Privacy
Our extensions do not target or knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
